with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge
and with all kinds of skills —

Bless Yer Art.

OSHANNA is a prayer. A faith nonprofit. A multi-media artist. A ministry. A seed. And a creative sanctuary for believers & disciples. In each human, God stored a unique blueprint that gives us vast talents, gifts and skills to contribute to society. For God’s sake, we will grow our love for the Earth and all of life through community, creativity and communion.  The mission of OSHANNA is a to be a living practice of loving discipleship, cooperation, creative advocacy and conservation of Appalachian traditions in handcraft, agriculture, spirituality and wellness. OSHANNA works with individuals, communities, groups, ministries, as well as private and public sector professionals. Together, we adopt and follow the guidelines of Episcopal Creation Care Covenant.

OSHANNA is a 501(3) founded in faith, using art to get people excited about Earth care, people care and resource care, ultimately becoming better stewards of God’s creation.

By centering the Christ-like principles of stewardship, reconciliation, and preservation, OSHANNA’s vision is to love the world God loves. Depending on the season, that could mean hosting a work party on a farm; co-facilitating a Board retreat; teaching social permaculture and creative facilitation methods; curating a SoulCollage®  workshop or retreat; and supporting local green spaces, waterways, greenways and public parks. Nature is our co-facilitator as we explore our potential with joy and play.

Our vision at OSHANNA is to love the world God loves. All are welcome.

WELCOME TO THE SANCTUARY, WHERE WE GATHER FOR

a faith-based
experience in
art + nature.

Did you know that God was the first sculpter, content creator, artisan, orator, painter and farmer? So it makes sense to us that our creative and sustainability work have a foundation in faith. Some of the best writers, artists, philosophers and thinkers of our time marveled at the perfect design and cooperation found in nature. At OSHANNA, we see opportunity to mimic that and be better stewards of natural resources and creative talents. Sharing our stories, creating moments of authentic human connection while spreading hope and faith can be the most strategic route to change. Some of our most beloved mediums include writing, printmaking, poetry, visual art, culinary, photography, ceramics, SoulCollage® work, community murals, events + retreats and farmgoods. Faith can be found in many places and we believe that hope is a human birthright. Live life like the masterpiece you are – make art, make noise, make change.

Artists Designing Evolution

Art is Our Response.

Artists Designing Evolution is a space where imagination + community lead in response to systemic inequity and disparities. Whether you are seeking a culturally-rich travel experience, thought-provoking learning journeys, creative intervention, youth leadership programs, or a network for change makers, there are many flavors under the guise of adé PROJECT – the flagship artist residency of Cortina Jenelle Caldwell (+ guest artists and cooperators as often as possible!). To this end, we embody principles of cooperation with a five point theory of change – creative facilitation, entrepreneurship, service, training + education and storytelling. Organizing spaces in circle with other artists, educators, facilitators, young leaders, community farmers and historians has been a cornerstone of our success.

Art is our RESPONSE.
